More than 64% of Pakistan’s population is below the age of 30. Since they form the bulk of the country’s citizens, it is important that they be provided opportunities for healthy activities, such as sports.
Meaningful youth engagement, with a focus on opening up spaces for increased participation in sports, will help improve overall well-being and provide a dimension of personal empowerment and influence to the youth. However, according to the UNDP’s National Human Development Report on Pakistan, 93% of the youth do not have access to sporting facilities, while even lesser have ever attended a sporting event.
