CDPR’s Young Policy Scholar Programme

This is a four-week, pre-university research programme by the Consortium for Development Policy Research that takes students through the full lifecycle of evidence-based policy research – from identifying a question to producing a publishable policy brief. Designed for ambitious students interested in economics, public policy and development, the programme offers hands-on research experience, expert mentorship and a strong addition to university applications.

HOW TO APPLY

Submit your application via the online application form linked below, and attach:

  • Your most recent school transcript
  • A cover letter (300 words) addressing:
    • 1.  Why are you interested in this programme?
    • 2.  What development or policy problem interests you most, and why?
    • 3.  What do you hope to do with the skills you gain?

  • 15 June 2026 — Applications close
  • Mid-June 2026 — Decisions announced
