In recent decades, Pakistan has been increasingly affected by extreme weather events – heatwaves, heavy rainfall, and the devastating floods of 2022 and 2025. Due to limited access to resources and decision-making powers, gender inequality leaves women more vulnerable, particularly in rural and agricultural communities, which are the worst-hit regions prone to flooding. This dialogue aims to explore the unequal burden of climate change faced by women in Pakistan, their role in climate adaptation, and the targeted policy and institutional reforms for their enhanced protection.
